Welcome to another piece of heaven for
RATING: ★ ★ ★ ★★
Jute Bäckerei is located in the beautiful Prenzlauer Berg, one of the most trendy areas in the city, just a few steps away from U2 Eberswalder Strasse.
You can easily reach them also from the Ring
You can get a coffee or a refreshing iced tea after having walked back and forth in the most famous flea market of the city: Mauer Park (https://goo.gl/QhcDXx)! Or maybe after a visit to the Kulturbrauerei (https://www.kulturbrauerei.de/)
Assortment and Quality
Bread of all kinds, baguettes, cakes, biscuits, brownies, etc. I mean, it’s a bakery after all! A Jute (good) one!
The products offered by Jute baeckerei are all fresh and baked every day. They use different kind of flour mixes: buckwheat, rice, corn, millet, teff, potato
All Gluten Free, all BIO, all Good!Jute Bäckerei philosophy
The Banana and cocos muffin: d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s! Fragrant, light and so tasty! A must try if you’re gonna pay them a visit. On the other hand, I was a bit disappointed by the Friederike Bio-Cookie with Cranberries (too dried in my opinion).
Another weak spot would be the cappuccino. There’s definitely room for improvement on that side too.
Said that I’d like again to highlight the added value of this place. And I’m talking about its history. Friedrich, the owner, was diagnosed with Gluten intolerance and always struggled, as many others, to find Gluten free options and therefore, he decided to do something about it: he created his own business!
I guess we can all thank him for doing that!
In the end, I’d recommend you to have a look at their webpage too, as you can find not only the recipes of all the Jute Bäckerei creations, but also buy products and flour mixes online!
